How To Grow Healthy Hair?

I always get asked how do you grow healthy hair & what products do I use to make my hair so shiny. First off let me tell you - these results didn’t come overnight rather its been about 3 years since I have really focused on my hair. Here are some tips on how to grow healthy hair:

  • Get your haircut every 2 to 3 months. I’ve been going every 2 months for the past 3 years and what a difference. The reason you should get your haircut every 2 to 3 months is to avoid the damaged hair to move up. The faster you cut off those ends the less likely you are to have to cut more than just a trim if you keep up with hair cuts. Also keeping the same hair stylist is a benefit since consistency is key to healthy hair!

  • Scalp Massages. This not only feels AMAZING it also helps circulate the blood flow to your scalp which provides oxygen and nutrients to the hair follicles. This then encourages healthy hair growth. I massage my scalp everyday for about 2 minutes!

  • EAT YOUR PROTEIN. Your hair is made up of keratin, which gives your hair strength, flexibility and elasticity. I’ve mentioned this before but I will mention it again- your scalp consumes 20% of the protein you eat each day. Which means if you only consume a little protein, your body will consume it first and the scalp is the last one to receive it. If there isn’t enough protein to be distributed then your scalp will not receive any protein that day!

  • Don’t be in the sun for too long! The sun is amazing and also damaging…sadly. It weakens your hair protein structure, de-moisturizes it and reduces elasticity.

  • Eat your iron- this can be found in red meat, seafood, dark leafy green such as spinach, peas and beans.

  • Wet your hair before and after you swim. Chlorine is very damaging to your hair since it strips all the natural oils from your scalp which ends up leaving it dry and damaged. Wetting your hair before swimming helps your hair and scalp to not absorb the water. Rinsing your hair

  • Drink Collagen. You can read more about why collagen is so important in my last blog post.

Try doing this and let me know how it goes! Also feel free to Book a Hair Wash with me if you want a more depth analysis!
